The South African Property Owners’ Association (Sapoa) has launched its first PropTech survey to collate information about how technology is assisting real estate businesses across Africa.

Sapoa is an industry body which represents listed funds, other landlords, facilities managers, property solutions companies and all kinds of other groups and individuals connected to real estate.

The survey comes on the heels of Sapoa’s Proptech Committee which was launched with the support of the SA Real Estate Investment Trust (Reit) Association and the Green Building Council of SA (GBCSA).

Sapoa’s CEO Neil Gopal explains that the objective of this industry committee is to drive technology and innovation in the built environment on behalf of the sector.

It wants to increase industry profitability, to improve industry customer experience
and to reduce risk.

Gopal says the committee will educate, inform, and support the South African property sector in number of ways.

“As a start, the committee has put together a short survey, which should take no longer than 5 minutes, to understand the current state of digital transformation, and where to focus priorities,” says Gopal.

The results of the survey will be available as part of a research report in due course.

Sapoa has provided this link for the public to take the survey: here

The deadline for responses is July 8 2022 at 16h00
