The Competition Tribunal has approved the acquisition of JSE-listed sectional title developer company Balwin Properties by the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF), represented by the embattled Public Investment Corporation (PIC), and Volker Holdings that have formed a bidding company.
Following the implementation of the merger, Balwin will be under the control of the bidding company. The PIC invests on behalf of the Government Employees Pension Fund.
Volker holds shares in Balwin on behalf of its founder and CEO, Stephen Brookes.
