ZacPak has signed a 15-year lease with Fortress Logistics for 15,664m² warehousing space at the Clairwood Logistics Park in KwaZulu Natal.
Clairwood is owned by Fortress Reit, a JSE-listed property fund. The park which is one of the five newest, best quality industrial parks in SA, is expected to be completed in May 2023.
“This signature development in KZN combines prime port access with best-in-class logistics infrastructure,” said Jason Cooper, head of developments for Fortress.
ZacPak, a wholly owned subsidiary of SACO CFR Freight SA, works in freight movement. ZacPak said it facilitates its clients’ warehousing needs through ZDOS, a proprietary quote system.
“Clients track and trace shipments from A to Z, utilising barcoding to maximise productivity and service,” said Dave Graham, group CEO of SACO CFR.
He said ZacPak had found many successes in Durban.
“Nearly 10 years ago, we opened our first ZacPak facility in Durban. Today marks a huge milestone for us as we begin the development of our new home. We look forward to continuing to ‘shift our clients worlds’ even more in future,” said Graham.
Clairwood Logistics Park lies 11km from the Durban Container Terminal.
Cooper said ZacPak was in good company with companies such as African Sugar Logistics, Super Group and King’s Rest having all signed leases for space at Clairwood Logistics Park.
“The Park plays an important role in positioning Africa’s largest port, and the city of Durban, as a leading national and indeed global innovation hub,” he said.
The whole park boasts 360,000m² of warehousing space, and has been driven almost entirely by client demand.
“Fortress Logistics looks forward to continuing to work with clients to deliver world-leading logistics infrastructure in support of Durban’s position as largest and busiest shipping terminal in sub-Saharan Africa,” said Cooper.
