Grit Real Estate Income Group has appointed Garreth Elston as an independent non-executive director, effective Friday.
Elston is a fund manager who leads Golden Section Capital. He has brings more than 20 years of experience in listed and direct real estate, commercial property, private equity, capital markets and asset management. He has worked with South African, North American, European and Singaporean markets.
He is the founder and managing director of Golden Section Capital, an institutional research and advisory firm focused on listed real estate and infrastructure investments. He was chief investment officer of Reitway Global. He oversaw listed real estate investment mandates, and had senior positions at Alternative Real Estate Capital Management, Absa CPF Specialised Equity Division and Golden Section Capital Markets in Toronto.
Elston has an MBA, an MA and BCom and is a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Markets and a Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa.
He will serve on the board’s investment, audit, risk and responsible business committees.
Grit Real Estate Income Group is a pan-African real estate company that invests in, develops and manages assets in African countries excluding South Africa. It was formed out of Delta Property Fund as Delta International more than a decade ago. It then become Mara Delta and Grit. The company has its primary listing on the London Stock Exchange under the code LSE:GR1T and a secondary listing on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.
