Last week Thursday, Alistair Anderson, our founder, editor and chief writer, was awarded Features Writer of the Year by the South African Property Owners Association (Sapoa) for 2023. This was part of awards held annually at the conference. Anderson has been a runner-up in this category on multiple occasions and has also won News Writer of the Year in the past. The 2023 Features runner-up was Londiwe Buthelezi.
The 2023 News Writer of the Year was Londiwe Buthelezi and the runner-up was Joan Muller.
Property Flash was awarded runner-up in News Website of the Year while Property Wheel won the award.
We are proud that Property Flash has been recognised just over a year into its life.
Anderson said he was honoured to achieve his trophy which recognised his work at Property Flash, Asset Magazine and Financial Mail.
“I have covered commercial property for nearly a decade and appreciate being recognised by the judges from the industry. I will strive to deliver the best journalism I can, be it flash news, in-depth features, enlightening interviews or hardline investigative work. Congratulations to the other winners and nominees,” he said.
“This Features prize is highly personal to me and I dedicate it to Bandi Zondo for helping me, pushing me and inspiring me to provide such a high level of work and to not let small people bully me in my pursuit,” he said.
+Impact Magazine was awarded property publication of the year while Real Estate Investor Magazine was named the runner-up.
The Property Development Innovation Excellence Awards were also held.
