They talk about how there is a takeover battle around MAS Real Estate, an eastern Europe invested landlord. Both Hyprop Investments and Prime Kapital Investments (PKI) have recently made bids for the group which has been embroiled in numerous occurrences of poor corporate governance over the years. Hyprop, which is a blue chip retail landlord that owns Hyde Park Corner, The Mall of Rosebank, Clearwater Mall, The Glenn, and other malls, already has exposure to certain eastern European malls. PKI is led by Martin Slabbert who has been MAS’ CEO in the past and who has completed related party transactions between the companies before, earning undisclosed fees. Who will win this slugfest?
