SOKO District Rosebank at the Mall of Rosebank was abuzz this past weekend to celebrate three years of he retail offering.
Guests enjoyed a performance by DJ Zinhle whose range of bags and accessories, Era by DJ
Zinhle was one of the first retailers to take up space.
SOKO is a space in the shopping centre which houses brands who would not necessarily excel in their own stores yet but need exposure to the Mall of Rosebank’s customer base. It acts as an incubation space an also a space where people can explore new brands. SOKO follows a similar strategy to We Are Egg, which is an apartment store – incubator setup created by clothing brand entrepreneurs Paul Simon and Arie Fabian. They also operate out of Rosebank, in the are by The Zone mall.

“We are extremely proud to announce that the SOKO District Rosebank is 100% leased. To celebrate this significant milestone, we hosted a SOKO Open Day, a celebration of innovation, entrepreneurship, and the bright future of retail,” he said.
Hyprop Investments, a listed fund, owns the mall and is trying to generate better foot traffic in SOKO.
The group said SOKO District was not just a retail space; it’s a marketplace of creativity and innovation.
